Since a very young age, Curtis has been intrigued by the “behind the scenes” training and preparation required for sports and athletics. Prior to joining Symmetrix in 2015, Curtis gained two years of experience working for a lower mainland rehabilitation company as a Kinesiologist. With over a decade of experience in fitness, movement science, and rehabilitation, Samira is a kinesiologist who blends her expertise in Architectural Engineering and Kinesiology to help clients move, perform, and live better. She specializes in postural alignment, movement efficiency, and lifestyle-based approaches, recognizing how daily habits impact long-term health.
Samira’s journey began with a passion for both art and math, leading her to a career in Architectural Engineering. However, after discovering the transformative power of movement in her early 20s, she transitioned into personal training and group instruction—developing a deep understanding of strength training, rehabilitation, and movement coaching. This passion led her to earn a degree in Kinesiology, allowing her to bridge biomechanics, exercise science, and rehabilitation in her practice.
Her approach is deeply influenced by her own experiences with injuries. After sustaining a knee injury and later experiencing back injuries from a car accident, she went through the challenges of rehabilitation firsthand. She understands the physical and mental barriers that come with pain, recovery, and fear of movement. More recently, she overcame her own fear of falling by taking up indoor climbing, proving to herself that movement is not just about strength but also about confidence and adaptability.
Samira believes that how we move in everyday life—our posture, work habits, and movement patterns—shapes our long-term well-being. She helps clients improve alignment, mobility, and functional strength, empowering them to move pain-free and build sustainable habits for lifelong health. Drawing from her architectural background, she also considers how environments influence movement, optimizing workspaces, exercise spaces, and daily routines to enhance physical well-being.
Her practice is ideal for anyone looking to improve posture, prevent injuries, restore movement, or enhance performance. Whether working with athletes, professionals, or individuals recovering from injuries, Samira provides a holistic, evidence-based approach to movement and rehabilitation.
Her favorite activities include yoga, boxing, powerlifting, Olympic weightlifting, and indoor climbing, reflecting her well-rounded philosophy of movement and strength.

As of January 2024, I am back from maternity leave and excited to welcome new assessments into my schedule!
I have been a practicing kinesiologist since graduating from UBC Kinesiology in 2011. I was drawn to the kinesiology program as a lifelong recreational athlete, enjoying running, volleyball, basketball, softball, and soccer in my youth. Born and raised in the lower mainland, I love everything our province has to offer for all levels of skill and competitiveness.
Upon being diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis in university, I found myself drawn towards helping others with chronic conditions and chronic pain navigate the healthcare system and their best life. The ability to return to recreational activities in a way that feels safe and meaningful is such an important part of our healing journeys.
I have three young children and love helping other parents through their pre and post-natal journey. Our bodies have an innate and remarkable capacity for healing, and helping guide other folks through their process drives me to be the best kinesiologist I can be.
I look forward to meeting you and helping you feel your best!

Outside of work, Patrik thrives on movement and adventure. His top three activities are climbing, weightlifting, and yoga, but he feels most at home in the mountains—embracing constant learning and self-exploration as he practices what he preaches.
